In this project, students are challenged to learn the skills necessary to read music from a notated score, and to transfer these reading skills onto the piano. They will get to know some famous classical orchestral works during this project, exploring the ways a composer uses the elements of music (texture, dynamics, structure, melody, harmony, articulation, pitch, etc) to tell stories through music. Students can check their progress against video tutorials or download notation apps to support the mastery of these skills.
